A first in 2018 was collecting for Bramble Ward (the children's ward) at the RD & E
On a very wet day, we managed to collect over £220.
Whilst collecting, we met a couple who wanted to get rid of "some old bikes". We followed this up and subsequently collected a sorry looking pair of Yamahas, a Virago 250 and SR250. It was decided to auction these amongst the club members. The auction raised a total of £970. The amount is to be shared equally between RD&E Bramble Ward and Hospiscare.
Special thanks go to Laura Heggadon for showing great initiative in asking the owners if they were interested in donating the bikes, also to Secretary Adrian for sorting the paperwork and arranging the auction, and finally to Chairman Merv for collecting, transporting and storing the bikes. The donors of the bikes have been informed of the result of the auction and the destinations for the funds raised.
